Presentation / Missions of the PROCIREP
Created in 1967 by film producers, PROCIREP became, following the 1985 Lang law on copyright and related rights, a civil society for the collection and distribution of rights for the purpose of ensuring the management of remuneration for private copying newly instituted by this law for the benefit of producers of videograms. Since the order of December 22, 2016 transposing Directive 2014/26/EU, PROCIREP is one of the 'collective management organizations' (OGC) of copyright and related rights covered by the Intellectual Property Code.
850 French production companies and rights holders
It now brings together more than 850 French production companies and beneficiaries, all the professional organizations of film and audiovisual producers, as well as German, Austrian, Belgian, Spanish, Danish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Swiss and Swedish, through EUROCOPYA, European federation of collective societies of producers managing private copying in Europe, of which PROCIREP is a founding member.
Chaired since 1992 by Alain SUSSFELD, PROCIREP is administered by a Executive Commission composed, in addition to the President, of 20 producer members, elected by the General Assembly for a term of 3 years.
The statutes amended by the Extraordinary General Assembly of July 5, 2017 also provide for a Council of Supervision of 8 members appointed for the first time during the renewal of the Executive Committee in June 2018, also for a term of 3 years (see articles 1 6 and 17 of the articles of association).
